Former NYSE Euronext Executive Launches Lough Shore Investments
Belfast, Northern Ireland 18th January 2011 - The investment firm plans to partner with both established and promising next generation start-up companies primarily based in Northern Ireland. Beginning in early 2011, Lough Shore Investments will initiate the first wave of investments.
In addition to the initial fund, Mr. Moore plans to bring significant foreign investment to the Northern Irish economy through Lough Shore Investments. This effort will initially center on attracting substantial US investment.
Speaking after the announcement, Mr Moore said: “Our mission is to invest in high potential management teams and partner with them to build great businesses. Our goal is to bring ten great companies to exit or IPO by 2025.
“There is no doubt that lasting, effective economic growth in Northern Ireland will come as a result of private sector investment and development. Lough Shore Investments will help drive this growth through smart, strategic investment in management teams who have the passion and ability to build world-class businesses right here in Northern Ireland.
“In the months since the inception of Lough Shore Investments we have received a great deal of interest from US funds in particular. We will be vigorously pursuing these leads in the coming months.”

From November 2008 to March 2010 Danny Moore, was Chief Operating Office of the NYSE Euronext trading technology segment, NYSE Technologies. Prior to joining NYSE, Mr. Moore served both as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Wombat, a company acquired by NYSE Euronext in March 2008. Mr. Moore joined Wombat in 2004 before selling the company to NYSE Euronext in early 2008 for $200m. Before joining Wombat in 2004, Mr. Moore worked with Newry-based First Derivatives Plc.
